Gratitude and New Moon Blessings
Michele Theoharris | FEB 16
Tomorrow, February 17 is the new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius (sidereal astrology). It is the lunar New Year. It is the start of Ramadan. It is the last day before Lent. Can you feel the energy and potency of it? Eclipses speed things up. Aquarius rules independence, innovation and breaking old patterns. Read more here, one of my favorite astrology sites.
Next, I want to share a poem these words by Mary Oliver I hope remind you to lean in, be vulnerable and try living out loud and in color. To me this poem reminds me of the paradox of being human. The harsh realities of living and cultivating joy.
Don't Hesitate by Mary Oliver
If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don't hesitate. Give into it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that's often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don't be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.
Journal Prompts:
If a skilled surgeon could remove one belief from your identity tomorrow, what would create the most relief? What belief would you replace it with?
Spend some time dreaming about the year ahead. Make a list of the things you are committed to letting go of and a list of things you want to spend more time doing.
Get out your art supplies and draw your dragon. Or print one out and color it :-)
Affirmations:
I choose truth over comfort.
My freedom is sacred.
I am allowed to outgrow the beliefs I was raised with.
I give myself full permission to change my life.
Today is a generous day! (from my teacher Rakai'el Webb)
and a song. It's catchy!
Practice exquisite self care.
Here are a few ideas: Eat well. Stay hydrated. Meditate. Move your body. Be mindful of what content you are taking in. Take time outside in nature. Grow something. Dream of the world you want to live in. :-)
Have a beautiful day!
Michele
